Zig Zag Building pre-let brochure

Whatever good things we build end up building us
The well-executed lay-flat binding of this pre-let brochure, together with the excellent image reproduction, produced eye-catching double page images of the building and its environs that helped our customer to sell the space in the Zig Zag Building in record time.

The challenge
The Zig Zag Building is a major new development on Victoria Street, London SW1 providing stunning commercial office space.  The pre-let brochure was to form a key piece within the marketing campaign to sell space within this exclusive development.  The agency required a print partner who could contribute to the creative process and then execute the design to a very high standard in a very fast timescale.

Our solution
Park proposed lay-flat binding which allowed seamless double page images of the city spaces around the building, the CGI’s of the interior and the floor plans.  Extensive proofing included scatter machine proofs to ensure the special colours reproduced well on uncoated material.  The chosen paper was tested for the suitability for lay-flat binding by the production of white paper dummies.
Hard drying inks, specially formulated to reproduce lift and detail on uncoated stocks were used on press.
Printing was carried out in accordance with ISO12647 to ensure a good match to the scatterproofs, and for colour consistency throughout.
Special attention was paid on press to the many double page spreads.
The choice of lay-flat binding added exclusivity to the product.  Blue and yellow spine cloths were used to tie in with the colour scheme of the other collateral marketing the building.
The 700 copy production was completed within 6 working days from sign-off.

Sovereign Court property brochure

Exceptional printing and finishing for an exceptional development
Sovereign Court is an exclusive collection of superbly appointed apartments and penthouses, and represents the epitome of relaxed, contemporary London living.  It's a striking architectural statement at the heart of a rejuvenating W6, yet sympathetic to its surroundings.

The challenge
A print partner was needed who would be able to collaborate in the design process to help deliver a unique suite of marketing material that would convey the development’s exclusivity.  The project, which comprised a launch brochure, host brochure, floor plate brochure, invitation and outer wrapper, had to be completed within an exceptionally short time frame.  Using some unusual material stocks and featuring short and full sized pages, these brochures required the highest quality printing and binding not only to convey the distinctive qualities of the development, but also to capture the imagination of potential buyers.

Our solution
Park’s unique XD Screening technology was used to reproduce the high level of detail in the images and create very smooth tints on the floorplans.  Hi-res Epson proofs, using coated and uncoated stocks, were reviewed, and then followed by some retouching was carried out.  A further three rounds of proofing on press, each run to FOGRA standards, ensured excellent colour reproduction and full production dummies made.

Advance launch copies were printed digitally and lay flat bound within 48 hours of receiving the artwork files.  (Lay flat binding was recommended by Park, as this is the only method that would enable the design to use short pages on Colorplan in-between the full sized pages on Heaven 42. This process also ensured that readers could view double page images without a centre page break.)

Out-sourced operations, which included foil-blocking, die-cutting and lay flat binding, were supervised in person by a member of the Park production team.

St George property brochure

Building a partnership
St George PLC, one of London’s leading property developers, has built an impressive reputation for regenerating disused areas of London and transforming them into sustainable environments and communities.

The challenge
St George PLC’s design agency required a printer with exacting quality standards to work in close partnership with them on a brochure for the Fulham Reach development.  They needed a brochure to be produced to the highest quality within the tightest schedule.

Our solution
Park’s unique dot-imaging techniques were used to reproduce a high level of detail in the images, while creating very smooth tints.  Proofing included machine scatter-proofs and hi-res Epsons run to FOGRA standards.  Extensive testing on-press of the possible screen types and rulings was carried out.  While all of the options presented a very good result, the separation of a 240 AM screen for the images, and particularly the CGI images, and a 20 micron Stochastic FM screen for the flat tints, gave the best all-round result.

Adhering to ISO12647 colour management targets, Park accurately matched the signed-off proofs on press.

Repro, printing and binding were all completed in-house; the only out-sourced element was the gold foil-blocking of the covers, which was supervised in person by a member of the Park production team.

The 2,000 copies of the 32 page brochure with four page cover was press-passed, printed and bound within four days to meet the despatch date.
