Best of British
Walpole is a non-profit membership organisation that promotes British luxury brands. WordWide was commissioned to deliver a publication to celebrate Walpole’s 20th Anniversary. The Walpole British Luxury Showcase was conceived, edited and designed by WordWide, exhibiting British luxury brands at their best.
One membership benefit is ‘prestige through association’, so the production of the yearbook had to exemplify the highest standards of quality, design and print production. Park’s experience in obtaining the best possible results on unusual papers was fundamental to the Showcase, and Zen, a specially made, fine uncoated James Cropper paper, had been selected.
Due to the unique qualities of the paper, Park performed print trials and rub tests, using different inks to assess which combination would achieve the desired effect. The trials revealed that the images needed to be adjusted to reproduce well on Zen. Working with WordWide, Park retouched each one with specific regard to the inks and paper that were to be used.
Park retained complete control over the whole project, with all proofing, corrections and binding taking place in-house.
It took just two weeks from receipt of artwork to delivery of 15,000 copies of this 123 page publication with four page cover, to addresses throughout the UK.
