#SponsoredByPark ModMag is back for its 6th annual celebration of editorial creativity!

This year’s theme is Reinvention, something magazines must continually strive for, whether that be revolutionary change or subtle development.

Now an established feature of the publishing/design calendar, ModMag2018 (London) follows the first New York edition earlier this year.

Back at Conway Hall on Thursday 1 November, the following 'Reinvention' specialists are ideally placed to contribute to this discussion:

Emmet Smith has recently overseen the complete reinvention of National Geographic, one of the world’s most iconic magazine names, emphasising its print heritage while bringing a clean modernity to its pages.

Tom Meredith’s redesign of Elle UK won him the prestigious 'Art Director of the Year' title at this year’s PPA Awards, an acknowledgment of the sure-handed graphic shift he has applied to the magazine since his appointment last year.

Carol Monpart will share the development of the 12th issue of, The Plant (#printedbypark) appearing in a larger format with refreshed typography. This was a delicate change, but one that somehow distilled the biannual title into a purer form of itself.

Dan Sandison, the founder of indie football mag Mundial, talks about how a labour of love grew to a serious project, its team growing fast to adapt to a scale of readership that has surprised even its publishers.

Deidre Dyer, executive editor of No Man’s Land, is reinventing the US women’s magazine for the #metoo age.

Elisabeth Krohn’s project Sabat takes a very different angle on women's publishing, examining womanhood through her interest in witchcraft.

Max Siedentopf from Ordinary, applies his unique visual humour to magazines, the cover-mounted objects and picture-only format encouraging the reader to reconsider what a magazine is.

And Jeff Taylor has successfully repositioned his free London business/startup magazine Courier (#printedbypark) as a successful paid-for bimonthly with an international audience.
