Bespoke printing: Christie’s Mumbai auction catalogues
6,000 LABELSpositioned by hand
PUR-BOUNDin-house at Park
Park was given just seven days to print catalogues for the Christie’s India Sale, to be held in the Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
For such a grand setting, nothing but solid pages of gold ink would do. Metallic colours usually take longer to dry, but thanks Park’s extensive supplier network, we sourced a fast-drying ink which brought drying down to two days.
For speed and quality control, every step was conducted in-house at Park. This included folding, PUR binding, and the individual placement of over 6,000 labels.
In order to save time, we printed without proofs – instead, measuring every sheet for dot gain and grey balance to ensure pixel-perfect colour reproduction.
"Park is one of only a small number of printers entrusted to print the catalogues for our highest value sales. Despite last minute schedule and pagination changes, and in conjunction with complex impositions and bindery requirements, Park consistently deliver the catalogues to a high standard."
