Auction catalogue printing & design

Park is one of Britain’s leaders in auction catalogue printing, preferred by the likes of Lyon & Turnbull and Woolley & Wallis for our premium production values.

Our specialism in the auctions industry draws on the skill and experience of three different specialist teams: design, repro and print. By conducting every step in the print process under one roof, we’re able to maintain meticulous standards of speed and quality colour-control.

Park’s large format team is also often called upon for important sales, to transform exhibition spaces with interior fitouts and wayfinding. And with the ISO 12647 certification for colour management, we achieve accuracy and consistency between large and small format print.

Auction catalogue design, typesetting & reprography

Park’s design team is experienced in the unique reader journeys of auction catalogues: conveying detailed information in harmony with true-to life visuals.

For every client, we begin by creating a bespoke design template to create an identifiable house style. For each catalogue, the design team collates images and copy, and works with the client to decide how and in which order to present the lots.

Our retouching and reprographics experts then begin work on the images. Working to the Park’s ISO 12647 colour management standard, we balance colours, clean up backgrounds, and neutralise greys to present each lot at its finest.

For auction houses such as Sworders, this means Park is the sole supplier needed to produce catalogues. Entire production cycles, from brief, to design, to final delivery, can span as little as six days.

This service combines human expertise with technological capability: working GMG colour proofing software and online proofing systems, we collaborate with designers to fine-tune details, right up to the print deadline.
