Printing Port magazine: repro by Park’s in-house specialists
Independent lifestyle magazine Port moved to Park to print its latest issue.
Having experienced unexpected delays in collating content, Port needed us to catch up lost time. We were more than up to the task. Our collaborative online proofing process, overnight repro and flexible capacity allowed us to deliver just one day behind schedule, despite a five-day delay in the customer’s sign off to print.
The process started with Park in supplying hi-resolution Epson scatter proofs of colour-critical pages to Port. Following feedback, we retouched a number of images overnight to enhance detail and contrast, while maintaining the moody feel of the imagery. New Epson proofs were delivered the next morning.
Imposed proofs were then uploaded to our online content proofing system, allowing members of Port’s team to review and edit remotely, making changes that Park could accommodate quickly and efficiently.
On approval, the customer attended to press pass the cover and first text section, before entrusting us with reproducing the colour accurately for the remainder of the magazine.
After binding, an 88pp plus cover watch supplement, was nested within the centre of the magazine, held in place by an elasticated grey band.
