Kingfisher annual report: sustainable printing
Sustainability is important for Kingfisher plc, an international home improvement company which includes the UK’s B&Q hardware store.
So when it came to their annual report, Park – with our industry-renowned green credentials – was a natural choice.
Working with designer Black Sun, we proposed a number of unusual recycled materials which would produce a truly standout report.
A particular challenge was the cover, to be produced in solid colour but uncoated, a tricky task with often rough recycled surfaces. Following a series of tests, we selected GF Smith’s 100% recycled Neenah Environment Rough Grey 350gsm, which we finished with a smooth cover emboss.
In total, three different sustainable stocks were used, printing using a specially developed plate profile. The result was a distinctive, stylish, and truly environmentally-friendly report, with smooth solids and fine details throughout.
