i-D Magazine: printing for global circulation
Now recognised as a forerunner of Britain’s indie publishing scene, this magazine has come a long way since its first issue. Founded by Terry Jones, former art director of Vogue, the first edition of was a hand-stapled fanzine written on a typewriter.
Now part of the Vice Media group, i-D joined Park in February 2020, in urgent need of a replacement for their previous printer. They needed an experienced supplier who could hit the ground running, and achieve boutique-quality production values at scale.
i-D uses machine coating as an eco-friendly alternative to lamination. This seals colours, reduces page marking, and dries instantly – a crucial time-saver, for a quarterly title read across four continents, with issues typically running to 400pp.
For the February issue, Iconography, we printed a limited run of 200 case-bound copies. Wibalin® Natural was used for the cover, a 120gsm paper with a luxe feel.
Park passed on press on behalf of the client – a mark of our experience and dependability with fast-pace, high-volume print runs.

The Park team are fantastic. They consistently go above and beyond to make the process smooth and efficient. Accommodating challenging deadlines and unique paper requests, they navigated printing a 400 page magazine during lockdown with a calm and precision not found elsewhere. I feel like I am in a very safe pair of hands with every issue.
