Catalogue printing and image retouching for Sworders
Sworders is one of the UK’s most revered auction houses, with a reputation for combining expert knowledge with innovative and thoughtful marketing. When they wanted to do something different with their catalogue printing, Park was the natural partner.
They wanted to produce a 210 x 210mm brochure to showcase the pieces included in their Mid-Century Design sale. Sitting between A4 and A5, this size is rarely used by auctioneers, but has attracted attention from rival houses for its singularity, and its cost-effectiveness.
The 210 x 210mm catalogue allowed us to print in 24-page sections, with no wastage of press capacity or paper size.
Sworders wanted the halftone image on the front cover to be framed within a black background. We suggested printing the cover in a 4-colour process to create a rich deep black, bringing a stylish and sleek contrast between background and text.
Our expert reprographics team worked their magic, to ensure that halftone images remained neutral and consistent, while the colours detailed in the lots appeared vibrant and accurate.
