Calendar printing for The National Gallery

Colour management on press
Claro Silk 170gsm
Bespokecolour profile

Hosting countless masterpieces of European art, The National Gallery is the crown jewel in the UK’s fine art landscape. The gallery approached Park to print one of its most popular commercial products, their calendars, featuring the works of world-famous artists, including Caravaggio, Turner and Van Gogh.

Reproducing masterpieces at smaller sizes is no simple task, requiring skilful management of processes and materials to faithfully reproduce colours and fine details on press.

Park worked closely with the gallery’s production manager, and recommended Galerie Satin 170gsm, a stock which allows for superb colour reproduction.

Proofs were supplied by the client, and dutifully  matched on press, facilitated by a bespoke colour profile developed by Park’s pre-press team.

Client testimonial

“The whole production process was well organised and went very smoothly. The colour match against our proofs was very close and the overall quality of the calendar was very high.”
