Beber Mi Sudor: story-telling photo book
Finalist in Print, Design and Marketing Awards 2018
Photographer Jake Green and art director Melanie Mues were commissioned to produce a photography book covering Colombia’s coffee industry.
A number of original features were requested in this creative project, including the ability for readers to reorder the pages as they pleased. We achieved this by binding the books in a specially-manufactured elastic loop.
Uncoated stocks were used throughout: Artic volume for the photography, and a Pop’set cover, Sapphire coated for optimal lift.
Finally, the finished pages were trimmed individually and carefully bound by hand, achieving the artists’ desired raw-edge finish.
The outcome was an intriguing, transient read, reflecting the coffee workers’ remarkable endeavours, and the vibrant, changeable conditions of their work.
