American Chordata: premium independent magazine printing
Award-winning literary and arts magazine American Chordata has built up a loyal readership with its blend of cerebral writing and sophisticated design.
For a one-off UK issue, in collaboration with Stack, they needed a printer who could reliably replicate the production values to which their discerning audience is accustomed.
Park consulted with the publishers of this Brooklyn-based indie to find the perfect formula. We recommended Galerie Matt for the text stock, a high-bulking paper which allowed us to accurately reproduce the magazine’s vibrant, detailed imagery whilst minimising show-through.
For the cover, we used Invercote G, a one-sided board with a glossy exterior for maximum colour accuracy and definition, and an uncoated interior to ally with the matt coated text stock
Once bound, copies were distributed to four addresses across the UK and New York, concluding a successful British excursion for an American magazine.
