Jimmy Choo is a high fashion luxury brand offering an empowered sense of glamour and a playfully daring spirit through its elegant shoes and handbags.
Emperor Design’s brief was to design a report that captured the essence of the Jimmy Choo brand, while providing all the statutory information, all within a modest budget. The cover and front sections of the report capture the essence of the brand and create the ‘wow’ factor, while the later sections simply convey statutory information.
Our challenge was to produce to the highest quality standards a technically complex report incorporating 6 colours, foiling, embossing and 3 tipped-in foiled dividers within an exceptionally fast turnaround schedule of 5 working days, and to a modest budget.
In addition, we had to match the colour, tone, shape and embossing of the Jimmy Choo foiled logo on the front cover of the report, to the gold logo on a paper bag supplied by the customer.
We recommended which foil should be used on the cover to give the best match to the gold logo on the supplied carrier bag. Brass, rather than aluminium, foiling dies were recommended in order to obtain the clean edges.
A 200# screen, image and plate profiles, and ink specially developed to achieve the best results on coated paper were applied. The cover and text were printed to ISO 12647-2 (2013) colour standard.
We undertook on-press machine scatter-proofs, to ensure the gold pantone special colour ink chosen by Emperor gave a good match in colour to the gold foil. This pantone colour was changed following the scatter-proof.
Foiling and embossing proofs were produced to ensure that the finished result would be a close match to the logo on the paper bag.
